We as developers love frameworks, we identify ourselves by which framework we use. Are you a J2EE developer? A Spring Boot developer? A Quarkus developer?
What happens when you BECOME an [insert framework here] developer? You become addicted... Everything you do now revolves around how the framework solves your particular problem.
Now, I hear you thinking, why would I want to change this, it works right? I'm not saying to ditch frameworks entirely. What I want to show is a way to still be able to use your favorite framework without being dependent on it, so that switching and upgrading will become easier.
I say, we need to go to rehab and accept the framework into our lives not as a way of life, but as a tool to use when it is useful, but to keep it at arms length and, sometimes, to just say no, to frameworks.
