Two other ways to record video are with a digital still camera and with a smart phone. Most digital cameras now come with a video setting. The quality may not be what you would like. You will just need to shoot some test videos to see. Be aware that shooting video on your still camera will take a lot of memory and you may run out of storage sooner than you would like.

Smart phones also take excellent videos, but again you are limited by the memory storage of your phone. And, of course, your smart phone cannot be mounted on a tripod. But your videos can be very spontaneous when you are out and about and the smart phone is your only option.
