Politics and Country Houses were inextricably linked during the 18th Century, From their scale and architecture to the way they were decorated and furnished internally, they were clear statements of wealth and power.

In this lecture, held at Wentworth Woodhouse on 9th February 2023, Jon Stobart, Peter Lindfield and Oliver Cox discuss these links and how they present a 21st Century audience with challenges, as we interpret the various narratives that country houses present us with today.
