RAPA NUI EASTER ISLAND TAPATI FESTIVAL MOAI, Dance, Song, Sports, Queen Competition!

Rapa Nui aka Easter Island is an unforgettable place with free roaming horses, crater lakes, awesome majestic Moai stone statues, beautiful vibrant people and amazing Polynesian dancing! We visited during the Tapati Festival, the first two weeks of February, where they compete in downhill sledding, a triathlon including paddling across a crater lake and running with heavy banana stalks around your neck, bareback horse racing, spear throwing, weaving, making food, and dancing every night to gain points for their Queen candidate. Finally, there is an all inclusive parade where guests can participate with decorative paint and in the evening Fireworks! A totally unique experience! Enjoy!
