You guys know how much I love winter commuting and after years of doing it on different mountain bikes with varying tire widths I finally decided it was time to sell my road bike and pick up a full fatty!

I realize that this video is somewhat short compared to many of my other videos but I wanted to keep things succinct and just show you what I'm using without a full synopsis on each piece of gear. Let me know in the comments what you would like to learn more about and I'll try to fit in a full review in the future.

I also plan to do a winter clothing check in the future. I've already done videos giving advice on what others might want to use as well as what I personally use but there's always some minor changes here and there so if there's interest I'd be happy to share an updated version.

I know I didn't spend too much time talking about the Scott Big Jon itself but honestly it's not a ground breaking bike, there's nothing that unique to really lay out. It's special in the fact that it's a simple work horse that gives you the specs you need without any of the added techy fluff. The bike just plain works. The only change I would consider would be to move to a 1x drivetrain. The jump between the big and little chain rings is just monumental and I often find myself wanting a few gears in between that the drivetrain doesn't properly offer.
