Brandi Burque, PhD, is a San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) Psychologist. She has worked with local and federal law enforcement and military personnel since 2005. In her current position as a SAPD Psychologist, Dr. Burque provides individual, marital and family therapy for police officers and their families.

In this 5-part video series, Dr. Burque presents “Addressing School Violence: Case Studies of School Aged Mass Shooters.”

The video series covers one of the most difficult events for an educator or mental health professional to experience – violence within the school setting. During this discussion, Dr. Burque provides an analysis of the risk and protective factors of schools and perpetrators of school violence. She also identifies the variables involved in specific case studies that contributed to violent behavior, and discusses how media and technology impact the social variables that contribute to violence in schools.
