Unglaubliche vier Jahre sind vergangen, seit ich zuletzt einen Song fertiggestellt und veröffentlicht habe. Der Track ist fragmenthaft, größtenteils instrumentell und fast doppelt so lang wie ein klassischer Popsong. Daher meine Empfehlung: nimm dir den Moment Zeit und deine Kopfhörer, wenn du ihn hörst.

Die Passagen dieses Songs fließen ineinander, brechen abrupt ab oder wiederholen sich episodenhaft. Ich glaube der Song erzählt in seinem stolpernden Verlauf ein Leben - eins im allgemeinen und teilweise meins. Der Titel „I“ verweist daher sowohl auf das englische „Ich“, als auch die römische Zahl eins. Triggerwarnung: Vergänglichkeit.

Und oben drauf: ein open Call an alle Musiker:innen in meinem Kreis und darüber hinaus: Nimm den Song und füge etwas hinzu! Spiel dein Instrument drüber, zitiere, abstrahiere, ergänze… was auch immer. Ein paar von euch habe ich den Song bereits vorab geschickt, andere hören ihn zum ersten mal. An incredible four years have passed since I last completed and released a song. This track is fragmented, mostly instrumental, and nearly twice as long as a typical pop song. Therefore, I recommend taking a moment and using your headphones when you listen to it.

This songs sections flow into each other, are cut off abruptly, or repeat episodically. I believe the song, in its stumbling progression, narrates a life story - one that is universal yet partly mine. The title "I" refers both to the English pronoun "I" and the Roman numeral one. Trigger warning: transience.

Additionally, I extend an open call to all musicians in my circle and beyond: take this song and add your own touch! Play your instrument over it, quote it, abstract it, complement it... whatever inspires you. I've already shared the song with a few of you in advance; others are hearing it for the first time.
