Walking in Tartu, Estonia- winter walk in Supilinn (soup town)

Supilinn (soup town), located in the immediate vicinity of the city centre, is a unique place because here, the city, the countryside, and nature meet. Supilinn, formed in the middle of the 18th century, is a historical district of Tartu. It also used to be the slum and suburb of Tartu.

The unique wooden house in various colours, green gardens and Emajõgi River are all part of the identity and community of Supilinn. The district nowadays is undergoing a process of slow gentrification, becoming a fashionable residence area.
