The Mobile Inspection Lanes are the unique feature of NIAIMT's Inspection and Certification (I&C) Center. There are two Mobile Inspection Lanes which can move to places and can do Vehicle Fitness test there. The lanes are capable of testing both LMV and HCV. The lanes are automated and computerized. The machines and equipments are imported from M/s Mustang Advanced Engineering (MAE), Ohio, USA.

Tests:-
The below tests can be performed for a particular vehicle at Mobile Inspection Lanes:-
1. Pollution Test (Opacity test for Diesel version and Gas analyzing for petrol version)
2. Alignment Test (Side slip plates)
3. Headlight Test
4. Sound Test / Noise Test
5. Speedometer test
6. Brake test for multiple axles
7. Suspension Test (for LMV)
8. Joint Play test
9. Visual Check
