The 2022 floods in Pakistan submerged one-third of the country and affected 33 million people. Over 1,700 lives were lost. It also resulted into a serious health crisis, as people in the flood-affected areas were without clean drinking water and health facilities.

IFRC launched the Pakistan Monsoon Floods Emergency Appeal of CHF 40 million to reach 1 million people in the flood-affected districts across the country.

The video highlights the views of communities from Allah Dino Seelro village in Larkana district of Sindh province. This village was badly affected during the 2022 floods, and drinking water was hardly available.

To address the drinking water requirements of the communities, IFRC/PRCS constructed a solar water filtration plant in Allah Dino Seelro village. People from nearby villages also take water from this filtration plant. As safe drinking water is within reach, the communities are not experiencing any water-borne diseases, thus improving their health and well-being.

The video also features the views of Nazar Rehman, Manager WASH, IFRC Country Delegation Pakistan, who gives an overview of the WASH interventions being implemented under the floods programme, including the construction of solar water filtration plants and hand pumps in the flood-affected areas.
