Sky Plus HD Box - What to do with your old one?

Just upgraded to Sky Q? This week we have an old Sky + Plus HD Box - what can you do with one of these old boxes? We checked eBay and once you pay postage and fees you would be lucky to get £10 for it. We knew it had a hard drive but didn't know what size or manufacturer so curiosity took over and the tools came out!!!

It turned out to have a 500GB Seagate Pipeline 2 Hard Drive. a 5900RPM drive with 8MB Cache.


All that is needed is an external enclosure that supports 3.5" hard drives and supports SATA drives, NOT IDE.

WARNING: Opening your Sky box will make the warranty invalid, this is only intended for OLD disused boxes that would other wise be going in the bin!
