The Aussie Fisherman Greg retrieved my boat with my Ford Ranger truck in Queensland Australia. I was lucky that day because the weather was beautiful. Sometimes times when the weather is bad, it is extremely hard to put the boat on the trailer in the big waves crashing onto the beach. The tide was halfway out by the time I had finished my day's crabbing. There is no concrete boat ramp where I go mudcrabbing from. So I have to load my boat off the sandy beach. Being careful not to get my truck bogged. I use a hand winch in the old days. The winch rope were made of steel, so they would rust and break. Now, I use a 4×4 electric winch with a synthetic rope,which is very strong and doesn't rust.
Firstly, I drive the boat up to the shore, let tide go out a bit so I can load the boat onto the trailer.
Go and get my truck and trailer, then back it down to the water and put the boat on the trailer. Put the safety chain on so the boat doesn't fall off the trailer.
