An inspirational young girl helped her opponent cross the finish line last after she falls at the last hurdle of a race.

Mum, Sadie Marie Davila, captured the proud moment her 14-year-old daughter, Marissa, won her hurdles race but was even more astonished when she went back to help her injured opponent who didn't make it to the finish line.

The teen, from Kermit, Texas, was taking part in the 300 metre hurdles race at with the girl who she had never met before on March 8.

Sadie said: "She won the race, it was pretty close as you can see.
