Maple Syrup & Firewood at the Off-Grid Cabin

We're only a few days away from spring and that means it's almost time to wrap up syrup season. We are on our second boil of the year and ended up with an additional 14L to add to the 20.5 L we got from the first boil.

We have optimal sap weather for the next 10 days and we're hoping for enough sap to do another 20L of syrup, which would bring our grand total to 50L.

Today we decided to take advantage of the mild weather and split wood while the sap boiled. We blocked up a maple tree earlier this winter and now is the perfect time to split it. We finished with 1 bush cord, which means another 7 or more to go!
