Our Construction Division recently completed a custom shadowbox fence on a beachfront property in Atlantic Beach—built for privacy, durability, and the harsh coastal environment. The shadowbox design allows wind to pass through while still providing privacy, making it a popular and storm-resistant choice along the shoreline.
Because the property slopes down toward the seawall, our team stepped the fence panels to keep clean, straight lines without angled tops. Every post is 4x6, pressure-treated for ground contact, set deep, and reinforced with extra concrete to stay secure in sugar sand and withstand coastal winds.
We also added a matching privacy panel around the AC unit, tied the fence into an existing retaining-wall section, and installed an adjustable-hinge gate for long-term flexibility. Before building, we removed the old failing fence and started fresh with a stronger, cleaner design.
Beachfront work means challenges—soft sand, shifting grades, and high wind exposure—but the finished result is a sturdy, cohesive fence that blends with the neighborhood and is built to last through Florida’s storms.
