Kannamali:
Kannamaly is coastal sububrb of Kochi situated near Chellanam in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It comes under the Kochi taluk.

Kannamaly Church:
The History of St. Antony’s Church could be traced back to 267 years back. About 2.5 Kilometers in the Arabian Sea was the first Church of Kannamaly. It was constructed around the year 1745. During this time it was under the Mundamvely Church. The Church was destroyed during sea erosion. Then in 1796 another chapel was constructed near the sea under the patronage of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception and in 1873 the Church was raised to the status of a parish.

In 1905 again the sea erosion caused great damages to the Church. Under the leadership of the parish priest, Fr. Joseph Suarez, 1 acre 47 cents of land was purchased from Ebrahim Jacob Koya, a Jew of Mattancherry to construct a new Church. On November 22, 1942 the present Church, which was build following the model of St. Paul’s Basilica of Rome, was blessed by His Excellency Dom Jose Vieira Alvernaz the 31st Portuguese Bishop to Cochin.
