গেল অর্থবছর পণ্য রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করে ৭৮ কোটি টাকা আয় করেছে বেনাপোল স্থলবন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ। যা এক বছর আগের তুলনায় প্রায় সাড়ে ৬ কোটি বেশি। বন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ বলছেন, স্বচ্ছতা ও জবাবদিহিতা বাড়ায় আয় বেড়েছে। এতে কর্তৃপক্ষ তুষ্ট হলেও বন্দর ব্যবহারের সুযোগ-সুবিধা না বাড়ায় ক্ষুব্ধ আমদানি-রফতানিকারকরা।

The Benapole Land Port Authority earned Tk 78 crore by handling goods last fiscal year. This is about Tk 6.5 crore more than a year ago. The port authority says that the revenue has increased due to increased transparency and accountability. Although the authority is satisfied with this, importers and exporters are angry that the port has not been expanded.
