The inspiration for “Red Moon in the Sky” was first conceived one very early morning in September 2021when a large glowing red moon actually appeared in the sky over Newtown Creek in LIC, Queens.
Timothy had woken up at 5:30 AM and for no special reason happened to look out the window at just the right time.
The smooth as glass still waters of the East River have an almost magical magnetically charged quality in the beginning clips of this movie.
That’s why I chose magical music to score it: “Boléro” by “Maurice Ravel”. It is especially fitting also for the scenes I had in mind to follow.
To heighten the suspense I am not going to “give away” what they are this time until you watch the movie.
“Boléro” was composed in 1926 and the performance used in this piece directed by “Ravel” is from 1930.
As they are both over 90 years old this puts them clearly in the “Public Domain”. I’ve researched it this time.
As things stand ever seeing any money from my YouTube videos is lightyears away anyway, so if anyone involved in the creation of this magical piece should wish to share revenue with me I will be glad to do so.
For now I am happy to see how the “Boléro” has enhanced my “magical piece” and my hat is off to its creator. It has always been one of my all time favorite modern-classical pieces.
I am an artist that gets ample emotional returns simply from the creation of a beautiful piece alone.
Financially, otherwise I just sort of “get by” as many people out there are doing.
