Barcelona taxi drivers show solidarity with attack victims

(19 Aug 2017) Taxi drivers in Barcelona on Saturday drove down Las Ramblas in convoy, sounding their horns at the same time as Thursday's terror attack in tribute to the victims.
The convoy was cheered and applauded by people lining the roads alongside the Juan Miro mosaic, which has been covered with flowers and candles left by mourners to mark the spot where the attack ended.
One taxi driver taking part could be seen wiping away tears as he drove his cab past the site.
A group of Muslim taxi drivers laid a wreath.
In the attacks that began on Thursday afternoon, a white van swerved onto Barcelona's historic Las Ramblas pedestrian promenade, killing 13 people and injuring more than 100 as it ploughed down unsuspecting tourists and locals.
A few hours later, five extremists began mowing down people along the boardwalk in the seaside resort of Cambrils.
One woman died and five others were injured before police shot and killed all five attackers.
