NOTE: Hilde SEIPP was born 1909 in Berlin to a lower middle class family. In the beginning of the 1930s she sang in Berlin cabarets and her first major success was a role in Joseph Rixner's revue "Ein Kuß reist um die Welt". Her first recordings had been noticed by famous German composer Peter Kreuder, who engaged Hilde Seipp to lend her voice other actresses in sound films, including Pola Negri in a hit-movie "Mazurka", 1935. Although that was not mentioned in the movie reviews, it made her name in the film business. She was engaged to sing in Berlin Opera choir and also received a couple of secondary roles in the movies. In Togger (1937) with Paul Hartmann and Renate Müller, she met Berlin filmmaker Jürgen von Alten, whom she married in 1937. The next movie with Hilde Seipp - Heimweh (Homesick, 1937) directed by her husband, made her widely known to a wider audience. In 1937 her huge recording success was Willi Kollo's tango-slowfox "Nachts ging das Telefon". During the 2nd WW she continued her film careeer, yet without any more significant artistic achievements. After war she only appeared in a few films. Hilde Seipp died in 1999 in Lilienthal near Bremen.
