Clay Andrews (from http://relationshipinnergame.com) discusses No Contact Christmas and holiday season advice.

Should you contact your ex on Christmas? What about getting them a gift or sending them a card? Clay explains important considerations to take into account during the Christmas and holiday season with your ex.

For most people, you probably wouldn't be doing yourself a disservice by doing No Contact during Christmas.

If you're teetering on the edge of Damage Control Mode or if you're falling prey to the Holiday Expectation Effect, then No Contact is probably a good idea because it will keep you from doing damage if you start to feel anxious or panicky.

When it comes to reaching out to an ex on a holiday, you want look at your intentions. If you are being driven by the Holiday Expectation Effect, it is not a good idea.

On the other hand, what do you do if your ex contacts you during Christmas and the holidays?

The No Contact Rule during Christmas and the holidays is still the No Contact Rule, so you want to respect the fact that you are in No Contact, but you also want to respect any attempt to connect that your ex puts forward during the holidays.

If they send you a gift, a card, or just wish you a merry Christmas, then it's important to acknowledge them. But don't use that at an excuse to break No Contact.
