The Looping Star was introduced in 1978 and was the first Schwarzkopf looping roller coaster capable of travelling. Shortly after, a smaller version called the Silverarrow was introduced. The Looping Star introduced the "cone-plug" system, which allowed each track section to slot together. This reduced the number of supports required for the Looping Star and eased the construction and dismantling process. [Coasterpedia]
