In this episode of Painting Masters we'll be reviewing several paintings by David Taylor!

I love his distinct and unique style. He is very colorful, and his works range from impressionistic to somewhat realistic.

🎨 MAIN OBSERVATIONS 🎨

1. The composition is excellent. Lot's of interest.
2. The arrangement of boats is genius. It creates an interesting eye movement.
3. The values are on point, giving this particular painting some realistic qualities. David even says so himself - the effect of getting all of your values right is tremendous.
4. The reflections are fresh and done skilfully. He used unique, muted brown colors.
5. Added some figures on the right to give this some life.
6. Used some splatters and also white opaque paint for some details in the foreground.

🎨 CONCLUSION 🎨

I highly recommend checking out more of his work. I hope to also do a study based on his work in the near future.
