Antique Silver Plate Finds for the 4th Week of April 2024

Not every day I find some incredible pieces of silver plate this old, especially one with a patent! I guess that if coffee percolators weren't a thing, that divided tea pot would have become way more common and Simpson Hall & Miller Co would have been a top company, maybe keeping its name instead of getting renamed "International Silver Company," who knows? I did find an old advertising article in "Watchmaker and Jeweler Vol ,1" published in 1870, which shows the company dubbed this the "Perfection Tea Pot." Funny how I can't find any other existing pieces online. Maybe it's more rare than I thought at first, I might actually get it repaired then.

And I also found confusing but beautiful pieces by the same maker, which show conflicting motifs, both Greek and Egyptian, and also an incredibly rare silver soldered hotel piece by a very famous hotel. Cha-ching! All in all a fantastic week to close out April.
