The loss of self with brain injury is unimaginable and so hard to deal with.

In this presentation Dr. Dian Lyu, PhD shares research about the default mode network and other brain networks that create different aspects of self and the conscious mind.

Knowing about these brain processes is important towards thinking about what can get injured with brain injury.

Dr. Lyu is a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford, who will be moving on to start her own lab. She shares her perspective of how this research can help further clinical understanding. The discussion with other brain injury survivors gets into many examples that can help others think about the problems that brain injured people have to face.
