How I connected an electric motor to my transmission

When doing an EV conversion, one of the main things you need to figure out is how to actually connect an electric motor to the wheels of your car. This video explores how I solved that for my conversion.

For this conversion, I've decided to use an off the shelf motor -- an HPEVS AC 50 motor, that requires either just a differential, or a differential and transmission to drive the wheels.

My van is 4WD, and one if the parts of the van that I'd like to retain is it's 4WD capability. So I've decided to keep both the transmission and front differential. How do I connect the motor to the transmission? Well, by using an adapter plate to the bell housing, and either a rigid coupler from the motor output shaft to the transmission input shaft, or retaining the original clutch.
