The Goaso Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana hosted a transformative event, the Thomas Wallace Koomson Memorial Lecture. This lecture, part of their 10th anniversary celebration, focused on the urgent need for a national mindset shift.
Keynote speaker, Rt Rev Prof Joseph Edusa-Eyison, emphasized the role of citizens in shaping Ghana's future. He highlighted the late Bishop Koomson's legacy of integrity and patriotism, urging Ghanaians to embrace their civic duties. The lecture stressed the importance of punctuality, tax compliance, and defending Ghana's reputation abroad.
Prof Edusa-Eyison also addressed the critical issue of environmental degradation, calling for community action to protect ecosystems. He advocated for tougher penalties against illegal mining and a revival of civic education to foster patriotism.
The Bishop of Goaso Diocese, Rt Rev Christopher Dadson, praised Bishop Koomson's enduring influence, inspiring responsible Christian leadership. He emphasized that national development is a collective effort, driven by citizens' integrity and shared responsibility.
