Horsforth Diary 2005

Recorded over the year 2005 this film follows everyday life, events and happenings in the community. Recorded month by month and, at the end of each month, a resident speaks to camera about his/her hopes for the future of the town. Have any of these happened?

Fascinating to see what the community has lost in that time: Jumble Sales, the Flower Show, Sports Day, the Horsforth Day Centre, Park Lane College (later Leeds City College), Horsforth Leeds Brass Band and, on here, the closure of Woodside School after 143 years and the last of the textile mills.

The voice-over is by former Calendar presenter, Geoff Druett, who was also the compere at the VE Day celebrations in 2005.
