I am not recommending trying these; the point is to share interesting historical facts.

These are some general common hunting strategies I often read about during 12 years of research on historical lifeways of Indigenous North Americans. These may differ across nations, but I'm generalizing some common aspects of hunter-gatherer cultures without referencing any in particular.

Many books have been written about the subject, and hunting / ethnozoology is not the focus of my research, but I have inevitably read extensively about it and remember these examples most prominently (thus, no references for my statements this time, sorry).

Please note that the Indigenous peoples mentioned are still living cultures and when I use past tense it is to describe practices in a historical context.
