Bitcoin supports the uptrend, why the 100 SMA is key
Bitcoin is still well supported near the $42,700 support zone against the U.S. dollar.
The bitcoin price has begun a downward correction below the $44,000 level. In addition, the price rose above the 50% Fibonacci retracement level in a downward motion from a swing high of $45,500 to a low of $42,709.
A key upward channel with support of around $44,000 is also forming on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair. The bitcoin price is now trading above $42,000 and the 100-hour simple moving average. On the other hand, the nearest resistance is near the $44,500 level.
