To draw a figure in motion, it is good practice to draw in the underlying bone structure. This can be as simple as a stick figure. Once the stick figure is drawn and is balanced, we can give it form by drawing the mannequin over the stick figure. The simple cylindrical or square shapes of the mannequin will help solidify as well as to identify any foreshortening on the pose. Then we finish out the drawing with the proper anatomy from the reference. For drawing human anatomy, working from reference is the preferred method.
