So you cave. You pick it up. You strip off the paint just to see, and under that thick red coat? Beautiful wood grain….everywhere except the top (hello, laminate 😩).

Now you're in too deep. You cut and apply walnut veneer to the top and edges, but surprise! It doesn’t match at all.
Cue: stain chemistry mode 🧪→ Walnut gel stain: too orange.→ Dark walnut: getting there.→ A custom poly top coat tinted with dark walnut: chef’s kiss.
This piece went from "ehh" to “how is this the same dresser?” and honestly… I think the algorithm was right.
