Today I spent time with Sky Harvest, an early access farming and life simulation game set high above the clouds on floating islands ☁️🌾

You take over your grandpa’s old farm, and here’s the twist, you’re also meant to inherit and run his old café. While I didn’t reach the café portion yet, the idea adds an interesting layer of long-term potential to the game ☕

Traversal is a big part of the experience. Early on, travel between islands relies on airship taxis, which I personally found too expensive. I ended up rushing to unlock the jetpack, which completely changed how enjoyable exploration felt 🚀

What worked for me:

I really like the art style

The music fits the floating, peaceful atmosphere

The gameplay loop feels familiar and comfortable

The storyline, while a bit tired, still has charm and direction

Where it struggles:

Inventory re-sorts itself every morning

The mailbox claims you have mail daily, but it’s the same letter from the mayor

NPCs glitching into the world breaks immersion

Travel costs via airships feel punishing early on

There’s definitely charm here, and the farming systems show promise, but the game needs more polish and TLC before it truly shines 🔧

At $8, I would recommend it with conditions. Just remember this is early access. If you’re patient and enjoy watching games grow over time, Sky Harvest could be worth jumping into now. If you want a polished experience, it might be better to wait 🌱
