Eddy went to get my ticket, nice and easy I don't have to stand in line, I was talking to Eddy's friend who also works here.
Bought an entrance ticket for the Nature Park, all islands are included, and of course foreigners pay a lot more.
At one point Eddy said come on, didn't understand anything I hadn't seen a boat coming. On the pier I looked down, no wonder I didn't see it, it's a speedboat for hobbits or smurfs, normally only 20 passengers are allowed in, but oh well 23 or 24 fits too.
A young lady wanted me to swap so she could sit next to her husband but where she was sitting was pretty cramped with the plump people who were there so I said sorry but it's already a stuffy place here and if I'm also squeezed in for 1.5 hours it might be too much for me, I told her. It turned out later that she had some kind of illness and almost had to throw up on a speedboat, I don't understand why they just booked the normal ferry if you have something wrong with you, and if she had just explained it to me, I would have tried it.
The French couple that was sitting next to them, was also in Eddy's homestay.
The man later sat in front next to the boatman, the sick woman asked the French woman if she could move up a bit because her husband was sitting in front. What did the woman say I don't speak English, I think I really heard Eddy talking broken English, by the way you don't even have to know the language to understand what she was asking. I later asked how she was doing and she was fine again.
Fortunately this trip only takes about an hour and a quarter. Arrived at 11:20 in Wakai, as far as I know this is the biggest place, from here you go to the resorts, usually with transport that the resort arranges for you, you can also arrange it yourself in Kawai which may be more difficult because of the language barrier and also depends on your negotiation skills whether you are more expensive or cheaper.
In my case I thought it is only a short distance so the price will be reasonable, although Irina did not mention paying for pick up and drop off.
forgot to add Polar here, because it was a bit of chaos on the side. Getting in and out is a disaster in such a small cramped speedboat.
Waiting for them to bring my backpack to the side, while waiting a woman of my age came up to me, who asked if it was Eddy. Clever of her there were about 8 putih travelers on board maybe I look like an Eddy. Changed to the local boat of Milton (I didn't know his name here of course) the boats and handyman, this descent to the boat is also careful, steep and slanting and can be glass, stones and rocks. This is certainly not a speedboat but more of a slow boat, which is not bad because the view of the islands is beautiful, and I could talk a bit with Irina. The boat trip took half an hour.
Beautiful how this very simple resort is situated.
No time to unpack because lunch is already ready, I am still full from breakfast, it is 12:15 which is normally too early for breakfast for me, luckily it was tasty, so I ate most of it, I always find it shitty when I leave a lot, but they always put an entire orphanage in front of you.
Spent the whole time talking to the cook, who speaks broken English, but enough to do without Google, I said that her English is better than my Indo. According to the app I have learned 250 words, ok but they are not all in my head yet, it takes a while for those 2 brain cells to process that.
Forgot to ask her name, I will have to do that tomorrow, she lives in a village further away with her husband, 5 minutes by boat or half an hour by foot, if the tide is low, sometimes she stays here to sleep.
Normally she also makes pancakes for guests, but she wants to make something else for me.
Irina had seen my bag and said that I should bring it to the restaurant when it gets dark, because the rats in the jungle smell it and plunder your bag, stupid not to think of that, while I slept in the jungle. Afterwards it turned out that they even come by during the day, because I had hung up the bag, but that does not stop rats and mice, there was a big hole so rats, they had been eating my pack of Maria cookies. She also has about 8 dogs, 2 mothers with the children, most dogs and cats leave after a few months, the dogs go to the village, more fun because more kind of companions to do you know what, oh yes it's called breeding. And the cats go into the jungle because there is much more to eat for them, I think they get enough here.
Thanks for watching.
