By Wingett's Vintage Camera Collection

I recorded this video both to document and to share with other camera enthusiasts the many beautiful vintage cameras and photographica that my father, Byron Wingett (By), a retired Boeing public relations photographer has been collecting for more than 50 years. Organized by nature, By meticulously numbers, carefully cleans and inspects and expertly tests each of his camera acquisitions, recording the details by hand on Still Camera Catalogue Forms that he keeps in a three-ring binder. What distinguishes By’s collection from most others are his artistically and strategically arranged camera and photographica displays, many of which are protected inside of glass cabinets. By’s vintage camera collection, hidden from public view in his private residence, would be the envy of the best museum curator.
