[13] XIII. לְאֲשֵׁרָה
TO ASHERAH
הַקְּטֹרֶת מִבְּשָׂמִים.
The Fumigation from Aromatics.
בַּת הַבְּכוֹר כָּל-בְּרִיָּה הַגָּדוֹל, אֱלֹהִית, אֲשֵׁרָה מְפֹאָרֶת, אֵל תְּפִלָּתִי נָא שִׁמְעָה,
Daughter of great Bechor Kol Beriah, divine, illustrious Asherah, to my prayer, I pray, hear out,
שְׁרוֹת מֶרְכֶּבֶתֵּךְ הַקָּדוֹשׁ בְּמִהֵרָה, מוֹשָׁר עַל-אֲרִיּוֹת יְהוֹרוֹת, נוֹרָאִים וְחֲזָקִים.
Who guideth thy holy chariot with speed, drawn by roaring lions, terrible and strong.
אֵם בַּעַל [הֲדַד רַמָּן], אֲשֶׁר יָדוֹ הַגִּבּוֹר נֹשֵׂא טַעֲנָה הַנִּקְמָה וּמְרַעֵד הַמָּגֵן הַאֵיּוֹם.
Mother of Ba'al [Hadad Raman], whose mighty arm Ba'al wields the avenging bolt and shakes the dreadful shield.
מַרְדֵּבַת טוֹפִּים וּמְטוֹרֶפֶת, בְּפָנֶיהָ נִפְלָאָה, מִצְּלַלֶּת נְחֹשֶׁת, כֹּבֶדֶת, מַלְכָּת מְבוֹרֶכֶת שֶׁל אֵל.
Drum-beater and frantic, with a splendid mien, brass-sounding, honored, the blessed queen of El.
את מאושרת בַּהָרִים וּבְרִיבִּים פְּרוּעִים, מִתְעַנֶּגֶת בְּיָלָלוֹת חֲרִידוֹת הַבָּנֵי אָדָם.
You are joyful in the mountains and in tumultuous, wild fights, and you delight in mankind’s horrid howlings.
אִמָּא מִלְחָמָה, גְּבוֹרָה מֵיְצִירָה מַלְכוּתִּית, מֹשִׁעָה עֲרוּמָה, בַּעֲלַת גֹּאֲלִית.
War's parent, mighty, of majestic frame, deceitful savior, liberating dame.
אֵם הָאֱלֹהִים וּבְנֵי אָדָם, מִמֶּנָּה נִתְכַּלְכְּלִּים הָאֶרֶץ וְשָׁמַיִם.
Mother of gods and mankind, from whom the Earth and lofty Heavens are sustained.
הַרִּוּחוֹת הַסַּעֲרוֹת הַשְּׁמִימִיּוֹת, מִתְפַּרְסֶת לַעֲמֻקּוֹן אֵלַת הַיָּמִית, יָצַר בָּרוּחַ, לֵךְ מִמֵּךְ.
The ethereal gales, spreading deep, sea goddess, formed by the wind, go forth from thee.
בֹּואִי, רָצוֹיָה, בְּנוֹדִים, מְבוֹרֶכֶת וַאֱלוֹהִית, בְּשָׁלוֹם מְלוֹאָה עַל עֲבוֹדָתֵנוּ הֵלִיל.
"Come, pleased with wanderings, blessed and divine, with peace attended, shine upon our labors."
תְּבִיא הַשֵּׁפַע עָשִׁיר וּבְכָל הַמְּקוֹמוֹת שֶׁיֵּשׁ בָּהֶם נִמְצָאוֹת מַחֲלוֹת מָוֶת, גֵּרֵשְׁתָּם לְרָחָקוֹן הָאָרֶץ לִרְחוֹק רָחֲקֵי הַרְחָקִים.
Bring rich abundance, and wherever found, drive dire disease away, to the farthest reaches of the earth.
