Fastlok Installation

Fastloks are designed to secure a wide variety of shapes, either with or without the included wedge blocks.

The standard Fastlok will fit cylinders from 4" to 8-1/8" in diameter. The long version of Fastlok will accommodate cylinders up to 13" in diameter.

Either version will come pre-assembled with a set of adjustable inner support Wedge blocks (which are primarily for mounting cylinders) as well as a set of adjustable outer clamping modules.

When used, the inner wedge blocks provide additional, secure support contact points for cylinders. In addition, they prevent metal to metal contact or vibration between your cylinder and the mounting surface, providing a firm but gentle grip and a longer life for your cylinder.

We’re going to show you how to customize your bracket to fit a specific cylinder.

To start, adjust the wedge blocks such that, when mounted, your cylinder will have a minimum gap of approx. 1/4" or more from the mounting surface.

Simply loosen the screws on the wedge blocks to free-up the TRAC LOC inserts below, slide the wedges into the desired position, verify how the cylinder will be spaced from the mounting surface, and retighten the screws.

Next, we will adjust the outer clamping modules so that the sides of the modules will help to frame and support the cylinder. Again, simply loosen the screws, and slide the outer modules so that they will line up with the outer edges of your cylinder and retighten.

As a final step, we will adjust the length of the locking strap. With the cylinder in position, loosen the two screws on the clamp block that secure the strap length. Lay the strap over the cylinder and remove any slack in the strap so that, at rest, the locking pin will naturally slip into the cam handle groove and engage when the handle is just beyond the vertical position. In most cases, this will give you ease of engagement along with a secure clamping force. Tighten the two screws and verify snug fit.

On the bottom of the bracket, you will find four mounting holes pre-drilled for your convenience – to make it easy to mount into PAC TRAC or any other surface.
