CPWD stands for Central Public Works Department. Under the current Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), formerly the Ministry of Urban Development, the CPWD is responsible for managing buildings, roads, bridges, flyovers, and other complex constructions such as stadiums, auditoriums, labs, bunkers, border fence, and border roads (hill roads). Services offered by CPWD include maintenance management and project development to completion.
