JANE SUMMERHAYS in CHORUS LINE & RICK McKAY’s GOLDEN AGE 3LOGY!

Extremely RARE FOOTAGE of Tony-nominated actress/singer/dancer Jane Summerhays from our film, “Broadway: BEYOND the Golden Age,” as she dazzles as SHEILA in the original Broadway production of A CHORUS LINE at the Shubert Theatre. Jane also was the fist “Sheila” internationally, creating the role in the legendary London premiere of A CHORUS LINE IN 1976.

Jane went on to star on Broadway in SUGAR BABIES, eventually replacing ANN MILLER opposite MICKEY ROONEY, followed by a TONY award nomination opposite ROBERT LINDSAY in ME AND MY GIRL. Next Jane joined the all-star cast of LEND ME A TENOR and then created three roles in two ALAN AYCKBOURN plays in a row, TAKING STEPS, and THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND & THE 15-MINUTE HAMLET. Jane was soon back on Broadway in DREAM, and then CABARET, followed by creating the role of “Miss Madeline True” in the Broadway premiere of MICHAEL JOHN LACHIUSSA‘s THE WILD PARTY, directed by George Wolfe.

Between Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours, Jane has been busy in TV and Film, starring in the series WORKING IT OUT opposite JANE CURTIN and STEPHEN COLLINS, and guest starring in network shows as diverse as TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, COSBY, LAW & ORDER, NEW YORK NEWS, and ED. Jane is still regularly stopped on the street and recognized for her guest stint as “Claire Ann” on the legendary SEX AND THE CITY episode, “Frenemies,” where she played the sexually liberated pal of KIM CATRALL’S character, “Samantha.”

Jane is heir to the class and sass of Golden Age stars like Lauren Bacall, but all Summerhays - one of the most versatile acting, singing, dancing legitimate triple-threats that the industry has ever seen!

The A CHORUS LINE cast shown with Jane includes Pam Sousa as CASSIE, Matt West as BOBBY, Rene’ Ceballos as BEBE, and Pam Klinger as MAGGIE. The BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE film cast included at the end are Pam Sousa, Jane and Kelly Bishop.
