In this video, we are going to install a Wireless Network Card (WiFi) on the x86 OpenWRT router. We will also install the driver and firmware for the card. After that, we will perform throughput and signal strength test to ensure the new card is in good working condition.
For this tutorial, I am using the DR900VX Dual Band Wireless from Wallys. It supports IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11a/b/g/n. The card is based on the Qualcomm-Atheros QCA9880 chipset thus it has a high compactivity with OpenWRT. This is my recommended wireless card for OpenWRT.

If you are using this exactly this wireless network card, you just need to run the below command:
opkg update && opkg install ath10k-firmware-qca988x-ct kmod-ath10k-ct hostapd
