Overlanding Near Canon City Colorado: Arches, Rock Crawling, Camping, Cocktails and Turkeys!

Описание к видео Overlanding Near Canon City Colorado: Arches, Rock Crawling, Camping, Cocktails and Turkeys!

When options seem limited, it is time to get creative, and when that happens, the results can be fantastic. We wanted to go hit some trails and find a good campsite, but we knew our typical locations in the Rockies would still be crotch deep with snow and the soul sucking freeway traffic had us avoiding going to further locations. With that said, we stumbled upon this location outside of Canon City, Colorado. This area is called Seep Springs. I honestly feel like a little bit of a dunce going decades without knowing about this complete gem of location on the front range; which means no I-70, no mountain passes and no traffic. So, what makes this place so great? Well, it is right next to the Arkansas river, so you can go wet a line if you want to get some fishing in. The Royal Gorge is right there as well. There are fossil beds, natural arches, decent rock crawling, easy trails, plenty of campsites with great views and you can connect one trail after another and explore so much of this area of Colorado without having to double back.
It was an unexpected and welcome surprise when we came across some technical trails where we got to push Marty the Tacoma. Going on a few hikes some wild turkeys gave us some free entertainment (yes, this was before beers). It was hard to finally pick the right campsite, since there were so many to choose from. In a location such as this, we had to break out a Trails and Cocktails segment, hope you enjoy the Tropical Mule. Given the ease of getting to Canon City form Denver, this is a must have in your bag of outdoor locations, being able to avoid the traffic and crowds alone should send Seep Springs towards the top of your list for a quick getaway.

Those that follow the channel will quickly notice that Dutch the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Call of Duty edition, which I finally got set up just the way I wanted to be my perfect overlanding vehicle, was SOLD! Isn’t that how it goes. In the next episode I will reveal what the new build will be to tackle all the overland adventures to come this season! Along with a few more refreshes to the channel.
