Haiti PM Conille Welcomes Multinational Police Deployment As Gang Violence Crisis Escalates

Haiti's Prime Minister Garry Conille told the U.N Security Council on Wednesday that he welcomed the implementation of the multinational police mission to the country. “Haiti is currently at a critical point with 12,000 armed individuals holding a population of 12 million hostage," said Conille. "The deployment of the first contingent of police officers alongside Haitian law enforcement agencies should help put a stop to the barbarity of criminal groups.”
