Fly Fishing the SAVAGE River & North Branch Potomac (Western MD)

Описание к видео Fly Fishing the SAVAGE River & North Branch Potomac (Western MD)

As two of the top 100 Trout Streams in the United States (according to Trout Unlimited's listing), both the Savage River and North Branch Potomac are truly excellent Tailwater Fisheries in Western Maryland on the border with West Virginia. With cold and consistent year round temperatures, the Wild (and in the case of the N. Branch - stocked as well) Trout are abundant. As both streams are incredibly remote and surrounded by scenic mountains and forests, this is genuinely a special place. That said, both (at least for me) have been somewhat difficult to fish. Over the course of two days, we managed to catch 3 Wild Brown Trout on the Savage River while fly fishing and a nice healthy Stocked Rainbow and Wild Brown Trout on the North Branch Potomac River using my Spinning Reel and Single Barbless Hooks Trout Spinners (have I emphasized that enough?). With my yearly pilgrimage to this area now over, I cannot wait until the next time I have the opportunity to fish these exceptional Eastern US tailwater fisheries.
