repetition throwing - making and using custom rib

This video shows how I go from designing a piece to produce many similar ones, using a custom made wooden rib.

Being a beginner in the craft, I've naturally developed this way of going about the task of repetition throwing, since I found many difficulties making complex designs consistently. This method allows me to make quite intricate designs a bit more easily, as I only have to worry about one measure of height and wideness and the ribs custom geometry takes care of the rest.

Of course all the good principles of basic repetition throwing still apply, like having consistent weight in the clay masses. The difficulty to execute this method properly also depends on the clay used and the complexity of the design.

This has been a very useful method for me. I hope it can be useful for your own practice.
