Dasaprakash: 100 Years, Still Serving Vibes on a Plate
Think OG South Indian vegetarian food. Dasaprakash has been around for a whole century—yep, since the 1920s—when they first introduced Udupi cuisine to the world. Fast-forward to today, and they’re still killing it with fresh, wholesome flavours and top-quality ingredients.
They landed in Delhi in 1979 at the Ambassador Hotel (now Taj Vivanta), winning hearts with crispy dosas, fluffy idlis, and full-on South Indian thalis. Now, they’ve got multiple outlets across Delhi NCR and beyond.
The Rajouri Garden spot is pure aesthetic goals—spacious, vibrant, and all vegetarian. While South Indian dishes steal the show, you’ll also find North Indian classics and even some Chinese comfort food.
We kicked things off with their Rasam and Appalam—peppery, tangy, total warm-hug-in-a-bowl vibes. Then came the Bisi Bele Huli Anna, Ghee Pongal, and an epic idli platter (four kinds of idli + three chutneys + sambar = happiness). Their Nagarjuna Dosa brought the heat, while the Dasaprakash Special Dosa was all crisp and crunch.
Dessert? A humble yet dreamy Rava Kesari—semolina, ghee, sugar, dry fruits. Simple. Sweet. Perfect ending.
