North Dorset Railway, Shillingstone, 160th Celebrations, August 2023 - 4K

The North Dorset Railway celebrated Shillingstone Station's 160th Anniversary over the Bank Holiday Weekend of 26th-28th August 2023.

Fairground organ 'Charlotte Rose' made its first appearance at the station and provided a wonderful musical atmosphere for the event.

Thanks to all the NDR volunteers for their hard work in making this event a success! Lots of happy people evident in this video, well done!

We had a few issues with the Scammel Mechanical Horse with what is thought to be a fuel problem. The machine would stall out and was difficult to restart, much to the frustration of her crew! The Scammel retains its hand cranking handle. There is no electric starter. This did provide a little humorous entertainment for some of us during the packing up at the end of the day! 😀
It's a friendly close knit team of volunteers and help was readily at hand though to rescue the vehicle.
