This is a motet I submitted for the Young Composers Award hosted by the National Centre for Early Music. The text is Mirabile Mysterium by Jacob Gallus who originally set it to music himself. The title means "The Riddle of the Rooster", relating to the mystery explained in the text and the fact that Gallus means rooster.

It has some pretty interesting chromaticism, especially considering the time it was written.
