People often tell me that when I teach, I’m warm, friendly, clear, gentle—but also very strict in a way that makes students truly learn.

What they don’t always see is where that balance comes from. When I look at my students, I’m constantly thinking about the kind of learning environment I would want for my own daughters.

A space where they feel safe to ask questions, supported enough to try without fear, and guided with clarity so nothing feels confusing or vague.

At DUCON, we don’t believe in being kind without standards, and we don’t believe in standards without care. My corrections are intentional because time in the studio matters.

I want students to understand what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, and how to improve, without feeling rushed, belittled, or lost.

This is the environment I strive to create every day. One where students feel seen, challenged, and genuinely taught.

Because if this is how I would want my daughters to learn, then it’s the standard I will hold for every student who steps into my class.
