Given there are only two parts in the CMA exam, there is pretty much no exemptions on the exam parts. But for ACCA members, there is a benefit of getting qualified even if you are not a bachelor degree holder. This is one of the very few agreement that IMA has signed with the other accounting professional qualification. In fact, back in 2013, there was a proposal of allowing ACCA full members to automatically get the CMA certification, but the plan was scraped after a few months to avoid potential abuse.

On the other hand, CMA certificate holders can get quite a few exemptions for the ACCA exam. The FIA papers are all waived, and prior to 2016, 7 out of the 9 paper were waived as well. But effective January 1, 2016, only F1, F2 and F3 are exempted.

This is not great news for those who want to pursue both qualifications, but it remains to be seen whether this current arrangement will be changed. For more details on the ACCA exemptions, please check out the video above.
