Matar batata bhaji is a very simple and easy to make recipe. If you have fresh matar or peas available, you can make this sabzi in a jiffy. Enjoy this spicy and delicious recipe.

Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp Oil
• 2 big Finely chopped Onion
• Finely chopped Tomato
• 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tbsp Coriander powder
• 1 tsp Goda masala
• 1 tsp red chilli powder
• 2 tsp Blended dry Coconut
• 2 tsp Roasted peanut powder
• 2 medium size peeled and chopped Potato
• 1 big bowlful Fresh peeled Matar
• 1 glass Water
• Salt to taste
• A little Jaggery / Gudh
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Method:
Heat up oil in a pan. Add finely chopped onion and fry for about 6-
7 minutes until onion turns light golden in colour.
• Add finely chopped tomato, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder,
goda masala and red chilli powder.
• If you don’t have goda masala, you can use garam masala.
• Mix well and for fore about a minute.
• After frying for a minute add 2-3 tbsp water and mix well.
• Cover and cook for about 4-5 minutes until tomato cooks well
and mixed with onion.
• At intervals, if you feel masala is getting dry, add a little water and
cook again.
• Add blended dry coconut. You can roast and then blend the dry
coconut.
• You can also use 2-3 tsp vatan of fresh coconut, green chilli and
coriander.
• Add roasted peanut powder. Mix everything well together.
• Take potatoes and peel them. Cut the potatoes into small pieces.
• Add potatoes and fresh matar. Mix well.
• Potato and matar should get good coating of spices.
• Cover and cook for just about 2 minutes.
• Remove the lid and mix well again.
• Add water, salt and gudh. You can skip gudh if you don’t like. Mix
well.
• Cover and cook on medium heat for about 20-25 minutes.
• At the intervals, remove the lid and stir the sabzi so that the
spices won’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
• After about 20 minutes check if the potato and matar are well
cooked.
• If matar gets wrinkles form all sides, it means it is cooked well.
• Turn off the gas.
• If you want to make dry matar batata bhaji, then add little water
and steam it.
• You can also cook this sabzi directly in cooker until 1 whistle.
• Garnish with lots of finely chopped coriander. Marat batata bhaji
is already.
• Matar batata bhaji goes well with bhakari especially bajra bhakari.
• You can have this with rice too.
